When I received the photo for this sketch all I could see was a wall of water in the background and two frightened sailors staring into another wall of water about to crash down on them. After sending the artwork back to the subjects I was informed that they were actually on a ski lift at the time and the background was the village below, surrounded by darkened slopes. The ‘fear’ on their faces was caused by the cold. And their huddling together was to fit into the ‘selfie’ for the camera.
