“Portrait of Thea Proctor” – After George Lambert
Lambert’s charcoal drawing is held by Art Gallery NSW. It can be viewed here. I wish to express my appreciation to Art Gallery NSW for making the drawing accessible and to Deborah Jones of the Study Room for her generous assistance and advice.
My drawing is on white paper (Artistico Fabriano) using Stabilo CarbOthello 1400/645 pastel pencil. Despite my determined efforts, Thea appears aloof in my drawing, in contrast to the warmly seductive Thea in Lambert’s.
